Silverbirch
Mount Pleasant A 2 bed ex-council flat. Teh bathroom was modernised to include a shower overbath with an adjustable shower rail. The shower head was on a hose to enable it to be used to shower small children in the bath. A thermostatic shower and bath filler was used to ensure safety of children and older users from scalding. A no tap hole bath with an over the rim bath fill was used to help make the bathtub very easy to clean. Eliminates tring to get behind the bath tap pillars while cleaning.
More modern looking close coupled cistern and pan replaced a low level cistern. A basin and pedestal with the waste pipe going through the wall to keep the bathroom tidy. The floor was tiled with economical rustic slate looking tiles to provide a hard wearing waster resistant floor. The floor tiling was continued through the hall and kitchen to give continuity in the flat.
Planet Street This was a a Victorian 3 bed mid terraced property that was converted to a house share serving 4 adult tenants. The over bath shower was provided through a concealed thermostatic shower valve with a diverter valve to direct the water to either the bath filler or shower. The bath is filled through an over the rim bath spout giving an easy to clean bathtub which is very important in a shared house. The shower head has some directional adjustment and has a choice of 3 shower patterns. Hot water is provided from a powerful combi boiler providing a very generous and luxurious shower. The shower walls are clad with a plastic which is warm to touch and very easy to wipe clean.
The basin is an Ikea basin which is mounted on a storage cupboard. This provides the 4 occupants with an area to keep those essentials for the bathroom such as cleaning equipment. A tower of storage drawers provides a place for keeping personal items.
